Dear Colleagues,

The Chronic Autoimmune and Inflammatory Disease Research Network at the University of Toronto (UofT), or CAIRN-UofT was established to facilitate interdisciplinary, cross institutional, and cross-pillar collaborations among and between researchers, clinicians, patients, and other stakeholders across the University of Toronto. CAIRN-UofT was awarded seed funding from the University of Toronto Department of Medicine to establish this network, and it is hoped that this funding can be used to support the development of the infrastructure to create a functional network and a brand identity.

As part of the initial step, we are seeking to connect with researchers and clinicians across and beyond the Department of Medicine to serve as CAIRN-UofT affiliates. Being an affiliate will facilitate your ability to connect with other researchers in related or complementary disciplines from across the University, through the creation of a comprehensive database that will contain information about members, their clinical interests and research programs, their current infrastructural resources, including data and biospecimen banks.

Affiliates will also be able to be involved with initial strategic planning, attendance at CAIRN-UofT cross disciplinary colloquia, and access to funding opportunities. There is no cost to become an affiliate. All University of Toronto faculty and learners with an interest in chronic autoimmune disease are invited to become affiliates.

At this time, we are gathering expressions of interest. If you are interested, we ask you to click on the link below to be taken to an intake form. All responses will be kept confidential. We will also ask you to provide a copy of your CV.

Please don’t hesitate to reach out to us if you have any questions or would like to discuss CAIRN-UofT in more detail.

Wishing you all the best,

Laura Targownik, MD, MSHS, FRCPC

Principal Investigator CAIRN-UofT
